What!! Espresso Coffee Rub!!
Our 4 secret specialty rubs are our own blend of seasonings and spices including using the flavouful espresso beans of the popular Shatterbox Cafe found in the Victoria Public Market.
Our first and favorite meat rub is the HEATHEN SMOKEHOUSE Espresso Coffee Rub. The acidity levels of coffee deepens the flavors of our seasonings as well as the finished product. Coffee rub on is also a natural tenderizer, creating a softer products and sealing in it's moisture creating a juicier product, all while forming a delicious exterior crust.
Second we have our HEATHEN SMOKEHOUSE All-Pourpose Rub for beginners. This rub is simple but flavourful and is great with any choice cuts of meats.
Third we have our HEATHEN SMOKEHOUSE Sweet and Spicy Pork Rub. This rub combines the flavours of our pork base spices with Demerara sugar and Cayene, perfect for those backyard summer pork ribs.
Finally we have our HEATHEN SMOKEHOUSE Sweet Maple Toast Pork Rub. This seasoning is one of favorites. It has complexity combining the base flavours of our meat rub, then adding a sweetness with a combination of cinnimon, nutmeg, demerara sugar and our home made maple sugar. This rubs is excellent with pork cuts such as a pork shoulder.
